# Senior Designer

We are hiring one Senior Designer to own how PancakeSwap looks, feels and converts — across product, brand and marketing — and to prove it with data.

### About PancakeSwap and why this role now

PancakeSwap is one of the largest DEXs by volume, live on 10+ chains with BNB Chain as its home. In June 2025 it processed $325B in a single month, with 7.4M unique users in Q2 2025 and $1.8T+ lifetime volume (The Defiant).

At that scale, small UX changes move real money. A 1-point lift in swap completion, or one fewer failed transaction per thousand, is worth more than most new features.

We need this role now for three reasons:

* Product surface keeps growing. Infinity (hooks, CLAMM, LBAMM), multichain, new trading products and LP incentive changes all need clear UX for traders and LPs.
* Design is not yet measured. We ship screens, but we do not consistently track whether they improve conversion, retention or error rates.
* Marketing needs a design partner. Our content and campaigns team needs fast, on-brand creative at a steady weekly cadence.

### The role

You report directly to the CEO and own design end to end: product UX/UI, brand identity, and marketing creative. This is a player-coach role. Expect to spend about 60% of your time designing yourself and 40% on systems, processes and people in year one.

### Responsibilities

#### 1. Product design (about 50%)

* Own UX/UI for core flows: swap, add/remove liquidity, Infinity pools and hooks, farms, staking and new trading products on website and App
* Map and instrument key funnels with Data and Engineering: wallet connect → quote → approve → swap success; LP deposit → position management.
* Diagnose drop-off and failed transactions with on-chain and front-end data, then design and ship fixes.
* Run A/B tests and usability tests; every major redesign ships with a hypothesis, a metric and a readout.
* Design for two very different users: retail traders on mobile, and professional LPs who need dense information.

#### 2. Brand and design system (about 20%)

* Own the PancakeSwap brand: identity, illustration, motion, tone, and the bunny/kitchen character world.
* Build and maintain one design system (Figma + code components with Engineering) used by product and marketing.
* Keep brand consistent across 10+ chains, partner co-branding and multiple languages (English, Chinese and others).

#### 3. Marketing creative (about 20%)

* Be the design partner for content, community, KOL, partnership and product marketing.
* Set up a request intake, templates and turnaround SLAs so routine assets do not need custom design each time.
* Produce launch assets, social and Binance Square creative, event and conference visuals, and data visuals for reports.
* Track which creative performs (engagement, click-through, conversion per linked post) and feed it back into templates.

#### 4. Team and process (about 10%)

* Hire and manage designers and freelancers; set quality bar and review rituals.
* Use AI design tools to raise output per designer, and document what works.
* Report design impact to the CEO monthly, with numbers.

### Requirements

#### Must have

* 5+ years in product design, including 2+ years leading design (people or a full design function).
* Shipped work on a high-traffic consumer product, where you can show the metric your design moved.
* Comfortable with data: you can define a funnel, read a dashboard, and design an A/B test with Data and Engineering.
* Strong visual and brand craft, not only UX: identity, illustration direction, motion and marketing creative.
* Hands-on in Figma; built or maintained a design system used by engineers.
* Hands-on DeFi user: you have swapped, provided liquidity and used multiple wallets and chains yourself.
* Fluent English; able to work async with a distributed team across Asia time zones.

#### Nice to have

* Experience at a DEX, wallet, exchange or other high-frequency trading product.
* Understanding of AMM and concentrated-liquidity concepts (ranges, impermanent loss, fees) and how to explain them simply.
* Mandarin, or experience designing for Chinese-speaking users.
* Front-end skills (HTML/CSS/React) to prototype or ship small changes.
* Experience using AI tools to scale design output.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.pancakeswap.finance/welcome-to-pancakeswap/about-us/team/become-a-chef/senior_designer.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
